Red Ribbon Week is a week dedicated to alcohol, tobacco, and drug prevention and is celebrated annually in October. In October 2015, I took action to combat substance abuse during Red Ribbon Week (10/23/15-10/31/15) by teaming up with the Arizona Governor's Office of Youth, Faith and Family (GOYFF) and their campaign, "Addiction: The Elephant in the Room." I created posters with anti-drug slogans on them such as "Drugs: Choose Not to Use" and posted them on social media. In addition, I spoke to teens at Teen Court about substance abuse and how addiction is figuratively the elephant in the room- visible but seldom addressed. The pictures on this page are ones that I took at Teen Court. My fellow volunteers are holding a "Drugs: Choose Not to Use" sign. I used these photos when I participated in the Red Ribbon Week social media campaign.
