On October 24, 2016, Meena had the opportunity to speak at "Now You See Me" Addiction: The Elephant in the Room. This two-hour event, held at the Arizona State Capitol's Senate Lawn, was sponsored by the Arizona Governor's Office of Youth, Faith, and Family to kick off National Red Ribbon Week. Governor Ducey was the keynote speaker at the event. Hundreds of people attended -- from the President Pro Tempore of the State Senate to victims of substance abuse and treatment professionals. At the event, Meena also had the honor of watching Governor Ducey sign an executive order to limit opioid prescriptions - a pivotal step in combating substance abuse in Arizona.
Meena spoke about her role as the Chair of the Governor's Youth Commission Substance Abuse Committee and highlighted the GYC's initiatives to combat youth substance abuse in Arizona. She encouraged the audience to visit www.ivegotsomethingbetter.org for ideas on how to prevent substance abuse in their communities.
